In addition to our registered Commissioning Authority (CxA) certified by AABC Commissioning Group (ACG), Gipe Associates, Inc. employs nine registered professional engineers (PEs) and nine LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED APs), and three (3) dedicated field professionals. Having a staff of professionals, designers, and field inspectors, allows us to have a depth of understating in the design intent of buildings systems and how they are supposed to operate. Our knowledge of and extensive design experience coupled with our commissioning experience and training, allows us to have a unique perspective on projects. This knowledge allows us to provide cost-effective and innovative commissioning solutions. We have designed most every mechanical and electrical system that would appear in a building, giving us the understanding necessary to suggest innovative approaches to designing controls and energy conserving features in buildings. As the Commissioning Authority, this allows us a better understanding of design and the ability to make constructive suggestions that will improve the design, commissioning process, and building operation.
While our firm has been working on projects requiring commissioning services for over a decade, we have recently begun to provide commissioning services in-house with the addition of a Certified Commissioning Authority. In addition to our CxA, we have Construction Administration specialists who regularly provide commissioning services including documentation, adjustment, testing, verification, and training. This work is performed specifically to ensure that the finished facility operates in accordance with the Owner’s documented project requirements and the construction documents.
