
Gipe Associates has designed a variety of learning resource centers, libraries and media centers associated with public schools and higher education facilities. We also have experience with free-standing public libraries in a variety of jurisdictions. The MEP designs have included proper temperature control, humidity control and acoustics. Recently we have incorporated the following energy efficiency strategies into our library projects.
- Demand controlled ventilation using CO2 detectors to reduce ventilation energy costs
- Economizer cooling for free cooling
- Humidification
- Hot gas re-heat for dehumidification
- Digital lighting controls with day lighting features for natural lighting
- Radiant heating for perimeter windows
- Occupancy sensors to reduce lighting energy and cooling costs
